Hey all! In case you don’t know…since the death of good ol Charlie, my moms loyal doggie companion…she had jetted off to Ireland for 3 weeks to ‘reset’ and upon her return decided to buy fish! So we went down to the Pet shop at the curve last weekend and invested a considerable amount of money on 2 beautiful goldfish…Chester and Oscar. The point was, to have life in her condo. So while we were waiting for the guys to wrap everything up…I tested the waters with her.

I asked her to come with me to look at the dogs. She sat quietly on the bench as I enquired about some dogs…she took a shine to a beagle…but little did I know that the cogs in her head were already spinning in motion.

The next day I awoke with a call from mom, saying she was at the pet store, holding the beagle and getting ‘attached’. Well…shocked as I was , I rushed over to help her make a big decision. We welcomed Jazz into our family last Sunday and she has been a joy ever since!

Mom said she didn’t want to go through another heartache by losing another dog…that was why she said she didn’t want anymore. In some ways she felt like she was ‘betraying’ Charlie by getting a new dog. I say…if you think that way, then we may as well not love anything at all! We don’t do ourselves any favours by stopping us from loving…in fact, I think we lose out! We are all going to move on one day and if I can remember my life being full of love, loving and being loved…well, that’s all I can ask for! Remember the good times people.....
