Hey guys!
I'm happy to report that last week, we had atravel hit! We went to visit the palace of Sultan Allahuddin..built around 1914 in Jurga. I've not been having the best of luck finding really amazingsights and experiences in Malaysia so my expectations were not particularly high. I loved that I was proven wrong.Just as we turned the corner, my mouth was literally on the floor because the palace is amazing! It doesn't really look like a palace, it much grander than that and somwhat influenced on British mixed Indian architecture. Not what you expected of a 'palace'. But the architecture is truly amazing. Sadly, it was closed for renovation! It opens to the public end of July...so we're definitely going back for Round 2. I will definitely be writing about it then!
Have a good weekend all. Travel, explore, discover and just get out of the city for a day.

Ok...so I did go traveling last week but it wasn't how i imagined it to be. We went to visit the Hot Springs past Seremban. It was definitely an experience. For some reason, when the hot springs were mentioned, a vision of a natural lake filled my head...with pockets of people scattered around. What it really was, was concrete! Lots and lots of concrete pools filled with hot water. Still...we did give it a try. I couldn't get past my hands because it really was hot (obviously!).
Then, onward we forged! Ready to engulf the megalythic stones! They are suppose to be the size of houses and have been here from a time, long ago. But now, allow me to rant on a little bit about sign boards in Malaysia! Its not too bad! I've expereinced worse...but the megalythic stones had us driving around for over an hour, hitting a major T junction and exploring every exit we could find. After seeing everything but the megalythic stones in the area, we decided it was not in our fate to see the stones today.
However...the best thing about traveling is that you can re route your trip and squeeze in something else while you're on the way back. So...we decided to travel a little further ahead to see the Dutch Fort...jes within the border of Melaka. That was closed! Ha ha ha...we squeezed through the locked gate...hoping to find a treasure...and it was basically a hill. Sorry to sound down about it...but by this time I was laughing to myself about the day.
I have to say, all was not lost. The best part was and always is, the conversations we have on the ride there and back. And sometimes, no amount of traveling or sight seeing can top that! So...always look on the bright side of life I say!

Its come to a point in my life where its not the places you go or the money you pay...its about the company you keep! I have to say, I get better friends the older I get. When you're young, everyone seems to have their fickleness about friends...some even use you to their advantage. Thats not to say that doesn't happen now, but I think we're at an age where we're wiser about it. I've always been the person who was happy with 2 or 3 good, tell-absolutely-everything-to friends...but as time went on and work got heavier...it got harder to maintain the friendship. The true test though...is how you talk to a person after you've not talked to them for say, a year?!
I've had a friend I've known since I was 12. We're both from Kuching, she's Malay and a great, funny, gal! We went to school in Singapore together, went to the UK together, lived in KL together and worked together! I was there when she gave birth, when she got married, when she got divorced. But about 5 years ago...we started to grow apart and saw less and less of each other.
We managed to catch up the other day, talking till the cows came home...and basically, when I hung up the phone I realised that this girl, is a girl who will always be there whenever I need help. How can I tell? When you speak to someone you haven't spoken to in a few years and it seemed like someone you spoke to just last week! True friends aren't bothered about uncomfortable silences, they're don't have to prove themselves by calling up for updates every now and then...they're jes there...whenever you need them. Time is truly the test.
Cherish your friends folks!

Well, its been awhile. So much has happened. I've been on a mission to discover Malaysia...once again. It hasn't stopped since I last blogged it. Usually, we try to get away once a week now. Its becoming very exciting and therapeutic.
I'll go easy and just name a few places that I've been on my travels. There were the caves in Gua Tempurung, Kellies Castle, Melaka night market, Ulu Bendul Recreational park, Frasers Hill...and a few more along the way. All I can say is that Malaysia is awesome. You think you know a place!
So there is a lot more planning to do before the year is up. From hiking trails to waterfalls, ruins to practically anything out of the ordinary and we're there...trying it all! I can only say one thing about this little adventure. Leave the comforts of the air-con malls and your purchase weekends behind for one week and plan a trip away from the bustle of your town. Try out something new. Go on a day trip somewhere and see new things, eat new food...connect with your family or friends...or whoever you're taking the trip with. You'll definitely feel that you're week has not gone to waste and if you get into it, you'll be on your own adventure around Malaysia!

Hey there! Next week PK and myself will be off for a week for some recharging and fun...the two do not necessarily go hand in hand, but while I have some time off I will be continuing my quest in discovering Malaysia! So far, I've been to Pangkor for the first time last year andhad a short spell in Cherating a few months back. Now I'm eyeing the clear crystal waters and sun baked sands of Redang!!!
I've never been to Redang but like many people, I've latched onto the words and experiences of people who have. So I thought a little beach vacation should recharge my batteries and have fun at the same time....er...doing nothing but swimming and sititng by the beach! Ha ha ha....very stressful!
After Redang, I've got my eye set on Perhentian...but that will probably happen toward the end of year! Ha ha ha...its not easy deciding which beach to sit and relax on! So...thats the plan in my journey to discover Malaysia!
Love to everyone!]

Hello All!
Yesterday was St. Paddy's Day...and I had fun! We went down to Sid's pub...which was absolutely packed...I took my mother with me...being Irish and all....and a good time was had by all! We were talking about St. Patrick...who 'ousted' the snakes out of Ireland...so the legend goes. But funnily enough, St. Patrick was not Irish...he was Welsh I think and the snakes he was referring to was the pagans (in my opinion)...although I'm pretty sure a lot of Irish folk have their own ideas!
St. Patrick brought Christianity with him, to Ireland. In my eyes...he pretty much went around spreading the word and wiped out the practices ofPagans. In addition, its celebrated throughout the world, in the States...where they actually color their river green and even their drinks! Next time! But for the meanwhile...lets jes stick to the rich thick blackness of a nice cold Guiness! Ha ha ha....time to go to the pub! Ha ha ha
Happy Paddy's Day!

Hey all....I jes want to vent today! Ha ha ha...so I'm moving into my new house around the middle of the year and in the contract it says...no pets...not even a cat. So of course I'm ignoring that! I have 2 dogs and a cat and they're like my buddies at home! Like family.
I have one stray I picked up several years back which I may have to give away...because she is an outside dog and there are no gates in the community I will beliving in. So...its breaking my heart...I don't even want to think about it. But my other 2 pets, my cat and dog are small enough to keep inside the house and be happy. But jes thinking about giving my dog Milo away, gets me very teary and depressed.
As I am at home alone most of the time, my pets not only protect me, but keep me company and offer me plenty of fun and love! Almost like having kids! Ha ha ha...I talk to them, take them out in the car (yes my cat prefers a car ride now and then over rummaging through my trash bin)...the point is...what gives the developer the right to tell the homeowner whether they can have pets in the house or not? Is it not your house? It annoys me that they do not consider the pet orientated people who really love and take care of their pets and animals and consider them family! After all, I'm not moving into a condo...I'm moving into a town house!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hello Guys....jes finished up a group therapy day with Mr Paul J! Its actually one of my favorite days of the week cause when Paul is here, I learn so much! In fact...I have a little session with him off air, where I can get to vent my woes. I talk to him about some problems I may be facing and he gives me honest, direct and simple explanations and suggestions! I love it!
Today we touched on the subjest parent child realtionships and howit changes through the life span...meaning, eventually the roles reverse and the child becomes the parent to the parent, who becomes a bit of a child in their older age.
Inevitably, we become our parents and take on their methods of parenting, unless we educate ourselves on new methods of parenting. The trick is...to recognise the skills that were not too favorable of, as a child and take the skills that made a positive impact on you...carry that to your adulthood and use it when you become a parent...its all about passing the torch...lets make sure we pass along the best of us....
